Hit Points, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed: Those exist in every Pokémon. Using them masterfully along with the right item, ability, typing, move set, mechanic, team balance, care and love, and of course brilliant thinking mid battle will lead the trainer into victory!
Shirr and
Brazle were about to battle, again. The two haven't forgotten their first
battle which occurred around a year ago, not very long after Divoc was over.
Through that battle Matoi and Nog met with Shirr and Katsuya. And Brazle? She
completely failed to beat Shirr. Brazle wasn't able to defeat even a single of
Shirr's Pokémon at the battle. Now it is the time to change it! Shirr knew that
Brazle has become much stronger from that time. She prepared for a difficult
match.
"No!
No!!!" Matoi covered his face with his hands "I knew we will get into
this situation. Two of our best friends have to fight each other! Which of them
am I supposed to cheer?!!!!!"
"For
me it an easy choice; I cheer for Shirr." Sayoko said. "But that's
because of she is my future daughter in law. I completely understand your
difficulty."
"Yeah,
I'm going to cheer for Shirr. She is my future wife." Katsuya said.
"So
let's make it fair. Half of us will cheer for Brazle, and the other half will
cheer for Shirr." Ryu said.
Everyone
agreed. But Miakko knew she can't choose any side. Both of Brazle and Shirr are
her best friends. She can't choose one over the another; Especially when she is
going to battle the winner at the finals.
"The
second Semi Finals Battle… Start!" Lance announced.
"I
summon you! Kleavor!" Shirr called.
"Farigiraf!
Go!" Brazle summon it from its Pokeball.
Brazle
knew that Stealth Rock is coming. Therefore she didn't switch despite the type
disadvantage. And so Shirr ordered her Kleavor to use Stealth Rock. Brazle used
that and ordered her spaceship giraffe to use Psychic which damaged the Kleavor
fairly well.
Brazle
switched to her Rhyperior as Shirr used Rock Slide which didn't do enough
damage to this Rock/ Ground type monster.
'You've
did your job well Kleavor, but you don't have any moves to defeat this one'
Shirr was thinking "Use X-Scissors!" she ordered to use this super
ineffective move. Brazle ordered this ugly rhino to use Rock Slide as well and
defeated Shirr's axe bug.
"Go!
Infernape!" Shirr summoned her starter Pokémon. "Grass Knot!"
She ordered and defeated the ugly rhino in one hit.
Brazle's
next Pokémon was Hawlucha; a Fighting/ Flying Pokémon. Shirr assumed she can
take a hit from the masked bird, therefore she didn't switch. "Flying
Press!" Brazle ordered. Unfortunately a Critical Hit came in, and ruined
Shirr's prediction. The ugly monkey was defeated.
"Brazle.
You've improved from our last battle." Shirr said. "It is almost
unbelievable that you are the same trainer."
"Thanks.
I'm glad to battle you again."
"But,
I'm not going to lose; even if I battle against a friend. I'm going to battle
Miakko, and defeat her as well."
"I'm
going to battle her. I'll show you, Shirr!"
"Go!
Aggron!" Shirr summoned the Steel/ Rock type dinosaur. "Mega
Evolution!" she called. Aggron lost its Rock type and gained extremely
high Physical Defense. It will be very difficult for Brazle to break this one.
"Fire
Punch!" Brazle ordered. The move hit and did a Super Effective damage.
However, Mega Aggron's ability, Filter cut the damage by 25 percent. I wondered
why Brazle didn't have another Fighting moves for cases like this. Flying Press
is a Fighting type move and Flying type move at the same time. If it hits a
Rock type or Steel type Pokémon then the move will in a neutral effectiveness.
I assumed that Brazle liked the idea of this move itself, and didn't
necessarily choose it because how effective it is in battle. Shirr ordered her
Aggron to use Avalanche and defeated the masked bird. Brazle has understood;
she has to damage this thing little by little until defeat.
Brazle
summoned her Corviknight which did a bit of damage, but was defeated and after
that she summoned back Farigiraf which did a great damage but was defeated as
well. However, all of the three Pokémon did together a lot of damage, and Mega
Aggron was close to be defeated. Brazle decided to finish it off with her
Ninetales, but Shirr decided to switch, and summoned her Walrein which received
the Flamethrower damage twice due to its Thick Fat ability and then defeated it
with Waterfall.
Brazle was
down to her final Pokémon. She looked her final Pokémon's Pokeball 'You are the
one I've started the journey with. Please, let me rematch Miakko. You want to
defeat her as well' she was thinking. "Go! Blastoise!" she called.
She clicked her Mega Ring "Mega Evolution! Use Aura Sphere!" she
ordered her tortoise friend to use the Fighting type move that cannot miss and
defeated the walrus. Brazle saw the light, the light that might let her win.
Her Mega Blastoise can defeat Shirr's Mega Aggron. The problem is Shirr's two
unknown Pokémon.
Shirr
summoned her Whimsicott; the cotton sheep Pokémon; a Grass/ Fairy type Pokémon.
"Stun Spore!" she called.
'Please
Miss!' Brazle was hoping. It was down to luck; this move has 25 percent chances
to miss. But it didn't and paralyzed Mega Blastoise regardless. Despite that,
the luck was on Brazle side. Mega Blastoise still attacked and defeated it with
an Ice Beam.
Shirr
revealed her last Pokémon; Alolan Golem. A Rock/ Electric type Pokémon. Brazle
rejoiced in her heart; she is going to win if the luck gods will stand by her,
and won't let the paralyze effect to occur. Alolan Golem doesn't have a move
that can defeat Mega Blastoise in one hit, even with super effective damage.
Except for
one; the "AllaHu Akbar" move.
Alolan
Golem bombed itself and exploded with lightning bombs. Thanks to its ability,
Galvanize, it changed it Normal type of the move "Explosion" into an
Electric type. It was enough to defeat Mega Blastoise with one hit, and caused
both of the Pokémon to faint.
"The
winner is Shirr Massel!" Lance announced. Brazle was caught in surprise
and was disappointed. She clenched her fists. She was that close and still
lost. She looked down at the ground. She wanted to rematch Miakko so much, but
now it is over. Miakko will battle Shirr, and then she'll be back to her
original world. Brazle couldn't prove herself that she was strong as she
wanted. Yes, she did reach the Semi-Finals, but in Quarter-Finals she had to win
through a special condition. She is not the strong trainer she wanted to be.
"Woahh!!!!!
Brazle is so impressive, isn't she?!" someone from the crowd screamed at excitement.
'Eh?!'
Brazle was thinking as she heard those words.
"Yeah!
She managed to drive Shirr Massel, the one who defeated Kamidori Sayoko into
the corner!"
"And
she didn't even use Legendary Pokémon! Unlike Sayoko!"
"If
Shirr hadn't switched her Aggron before, then Shirr would have lost. Every move
it used is resisted by Blastoise's typing. So even with the paralyze effect it
couldn't win!" The words from the crowd were heard.
"Brazle!!!!
Brazle!!!!!!" the crowd roared.
"Brazle.
They are right." Shirr walked to her. "I honestly don't know why I
switched back my Mega Aggron. After I did it, I thought it wasn't the correct
move. In the end it saved me though." She shook her hand. "It was a
great match. Thank you."
"Good
luck in your battle against Miakko." Brazle said.
I've
learned something today as well. Brazle has lost, but she got the most
recognition she ever gotten as a Pokémon trainer. Maybe winning and losing isn't
what determines our skills. Maybe… just maybe, I wasn't weak when Homo Sama and
Hikaru defeated me. Maybe I should forgive my boy. I wonder if I'll ever have a
chance to know what he went through after he defeated me. Homo Sama, please,
send me some information somehow!
