Hit Points, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed: Those exist in every Pokémon. Using them masterfully along with the right item, ability, typing, move set, mechanic, team balance, care and love, and of course brilliant thinking mid battle will lead the trainer into victory!
The Single
League has started. The thirty-two trainers who finished the race before the
others were chosen to participate in the League. The first part out of five has
started and on this part sixteen battles will occur during the course of two
days; eight battles each day. Shirr, Brazle, and Sayoko battled during the
first day; the sixteen of August. They won win no major issues; especially
Sayoko who managed to win with only a single Pokémon. During the second day, the
seventeen of August, Ami and Katsuya had their matches. Ami won with no major
issues as well, but Katsuya, despite winning in his match, had difficulties
compared to the others. Miakko's match was the final match of this part. Her
match started at 5:00 PM. In order to protect the audience from all the
dangerous Pokémon's special powers and move, the "Pokémon Field Energy
Protection Force" was used in all of the matches. It was used in the Tag
League as well. As the name suggests, it is a special barrier which was strong
enough to protect against some of the strongest forces in nature.
T'horim
Alzheimer was the one to battle against Miakko. Two men wearing black outfits
and sunglasses were watching the match carefully from the crowd. Miakko entered
the field and was nervous. "Relax!" T'horim said. "I'm so glad I
was chosen to battle you. I finally have a chance to defeat you."
Alicia
felt her baby punching inside her. She was suspicious of T'horim. His voice was
familiar, but she didn't want to believe that under the mask was that man.
"Can
you take off your mask, please?" Miakko asked. "Why are you hiding
yourself?"
"You
really want me to?" T'horim asked. "Fine. I'll do it; when you'll
defeat my first Pokémon. Go! Kingler!" he summoned his crab Pokémon.
"It
is your time! Tsareena!" Miakko summoned her Grass Type Pokémon.
"Good!"
Matoi cheered "Miakko has the type advantage!"
"Tsareena!
Trop Kick!" Miakko ordered to use the Grass type move. This move also
lowers the foe's Physical Attack. Kingler survived due to its high Physical
Defense.
"Let's
do it!" T'horim coughed "Guillotine!!!!" he ordered. The move
defeated Tsareena in one hit. Miakko was in shock to see her Pokémon being
defeated in such a way. Most people in the audience were in shock as well.
"Why
is everyone in such a shock? It is just a Pokémon that was knocked out."
Ben asked as one of the few that didn't understand what happened.
"The
problem was the move itself." Waiareas explained. "To see someone use
this move without any thinking at the League is unthinkable."
"I
don't get it; Explain." Alicia said.
"I'll
explain to you! Alicia!" T'horim called.
"Do
you know me?"
"That
move has only thirty percent chance to hit. No one will be crazy enough to use
it. Except me! The luck is on my side. Years of playing the casino helped me to
get here!"
"Casino?!
You are-!"
"Well.
I guess there is no point to hide!" He took off his mask.
"Raal
Sartan!" Miakko called "Why are you here?!"
"Hey,
hey, Miakko, you should talk politely to your father, that was not nice."
"You
are not my father. My father is Furukawa Waiareas. You'd be a million times
better if you were tenth of who he is."
"Why
is he here?!" Aaron called "I've thought he is in prison!"
"The
judges liked him and took down his punishment." Moho Sama answered.
"God
damn!"
"Anyway,
Miakko! Do want to know I'm here? Well, I have a huge debt to the casino. Do
you see those men in black up there? They are from the casino. They are after
me. If I'll lose they will butcher my head. The prize money for the League is
enormous. Your fake parents already swim in money, you should know that. If
I'll win I'll have enough to pay for the casino, and I'll still have a lot to
spend!"
"You'll
just waste in a day on gambling anyway." Miakko preached.
"Yeah
I will! And then I'll finally be rich! I'll get as many ladies I wish, drink
the best liquors, and have everyone beneath me! Being a Pokémon champion means
a lot of money!"
"For
such a reason… do you even love Pokémon?"
"Who
the fuck cares about them?! They are just my henchmen."
Miakko
knew at this point; she can't lose to him. This is personal.
Miakko
summoned her Toxtricity and ordered right away to use Overdrive and defeated
the Kingler in a single hit with a super effective it. Raal then summoned his
Klawf; the Rock Crab Pokémon.
"I
think he might have something with crabs…" Matoi said.
"He
probably has cancer as well… I smell so much smoke since he went inside."
Nog said.
"Toxtricity-"
"Guillotine!"
Raal ordered. Klawf attacked first and defeated the ugly frog in one hit.
"Again?!"
Miakko was surprised.
"As I
said; the luck is on my side! Don't underestimate the life of a casino whale!"
"He
is proud of being a whale…." Ben said "What's wrong with him?"
"That's
Raal for you. I thank god every day for introducing me with Miakko and my
decision to break up with him." Alicia said and felt another punch inside
her belly.
'So it is
a battle of luck…' Miakko was thinking. 'But wait… if I'm the casino, then in
the end the casino always wins. Eventually his luck will run out. A wise
gambler knows when to quit with the cash, but Raal isn't like that. He is in
fact very stupid. I'm the casino, and I'll win.'
Miakko
summoned her Azumarill 'I'm going to test him.' She was thinking.
"Fool!
Guillotine again!" Raal called. The attacked missed "Oh! That happens
sometimes. Oh well!"
"Azumarill!
Use Waterfall!" she ordered to use the super effective Water move.
Azumarill did a decent damage to Klawf and activated its ability Anger Shell
which decreased its defenses but increased its attacking power and speed.
"Guillotine
Again!!!!!"
'He
ignores the attack boost. He is so deep into gambling that he doesn't even
think at this point…' Miakko was thinking. The attack missed again and Miakko
ordered her Azumarill to attack again with Waterfall, and so defeating the
Klawf.
Raal
summoned his Cryogonal, the Snowflake Pokémon. Miakko knew that her Azumarill
can easily defeat it with Superpower. Only she had to do is to survive one
attack of this stupid snowflake. But then…
"Sheer
Cold!" and so Azumarill was defeated in one hit.
"Another
gambling move! Disgusting!" Nog called.
"The
luck is on my side today!" Raal laughed "Come on Miakko. You have
only three Pokémon left. I didn't know you are that weak!"
'It is very
likely that all of his team is made of those gambling moves…' Miakko was
thinking 'But there are ways to cheat luck. Let's see if he knows about that…'
Miakko summoned her Lapras as her next Pokémon.
"Sheer
Cold Again!!!!" but the move didn't affect Lapras for some reason.
"What's going on?! It hit it but did nothing!"
"Raal,
didn't you know? Sheer Cold doesn't affect Ice types." Miakko mocked him
"It looks like you are a kind of gambler who goes "all in" every
time."
"You
little brat… The battle isn't over you know!"
"Lapras!
Use Perish Song! This move will defeat every Pokémon who hear it in the next
three phases. So, what you'll do?!" Miakko mocked him again. 'I asked a
stupid question. I know what he'll do. He'll switch; that's why I used this
move.' Miakko was thinking.
"Come
back!" both of the called and switched their Pokémon.
"Go!
Magnezone!" Raal called.
"Go!
Krookodile!" Miakko called.
"Why
did you switch?! You had the perfect counter against mine."
"That's
because I knew that you'll switch as well. I predicted that you'll switch into
an Electric Type. That's why I switched as well. Raal! It looks like you never
learned this. I assume all your victories were with gambling. But that won't
work against me!"
"You
little!!!!"
"Earthquake!"
Miakko ordered and defeated the Magnezone in one hit.
As his
next Pokémon Raal summoned Dugtrio. "Now you won't able to escape! My
Pokémon's ability is Arena Trap which won't let you switch out! That's my
Dugtrio's ability!"
"It
is Dicktrio!!!!!" Someone from the crowd called "You don't even know
your Pokémon's name!"
"Shut
up Uzib!!!!!!" everyone called.
"Fissure!"
Raal ordered and defeated Krookodile in one hit. Miakko had only two Pokémon
left.
Miakko
looked at her Pokeball "It is your time. Save me… Charizard!" Miakko
summoned her strongest Pokémon. She clicked on her Mega Stone "Mega
Evolution!" Mega Charizard Y's ability activated; Drought. Charizard's
Fire moves got stronger, it lost its weakness to Water types, and its Special
Attack increased massively. "Solar Beam!!!!!" with this Grass type
move Dugtrio was defeated in one hit. Next was Cryogonal, which was defeated by
Charizard's Flamethrower.
Raal was
done to his final Pokémon. He started laughing "Who could believe it?! My
gambling strategy failed. But good gambler always has something for last
resort." He took out his final Pokeball. "Go! Metagross!"
"Your
final Pokémon... finally!"
"Metagross!
Mega Evolution!" All of its stats increased. Mainly it's Speed. But it wasn't
enough to out speed Charizard Y. Charizard Y attacked first with Scorching
Sands, a Ground type move with the effect of burning the target. Metagross'
ability Tough Claws let it hit massively with Zen Headbutt which took down most
of Charizard Y's health. It was saved by the Burn effect. Finally, Charizard Y
attacked again with Flamethrower which gave Miakko the victory.
Raal stood
in his place for one minute. He was desperate due to his loss. He took six
yellow rhombus shaped item and penetrated them to his Pokeballs. His Pokémon
gained half of their health back, and he summoned them back to the field.
"Raal
Sartan!" Lance called "The battle is over. Retreat your
Pokémon."
"I
don't think so." He gave an order to his Pokémon "See that pregnant
woman? Aim for her. Use your most accurate moves. Kill her."
"Raal!
You think it is going to work?!" Lance started to get angry "We have the
barrier that was created to protect the audience. Retreat your Pokémon!
Now!"
"I
think you are mistaken here!" Raal laughed "There were eight battles
today. At least seven Pokémon were fighting each battle. The barrier is
damaged! Do you really think that
barrier has enough energy to protect against six attacks at once?"
"No
Raal!" Miakko was very stressed "I'm begging you. Stop!"
"Hmm….
I don't think so. Maybe if you'll bow to me with your head pushed to the
ground."
Miakko did
as he asked "I'm begging you. Don't… do it…"
"Good
girl. But I don't think I'll do it! My Pokémon! Attack! Die!!!!!!
Alicia!!!!!!!" and then his Pokémon shot their moves. The barrier was
shattered. It all happened in a few seconds, but Waiareas and Ryu managed to
cut through Raal's Pokémon's shots with their swords and knifes. Everyone were
surprised and shocked; because of the murder attempt of course, but how can two
normal people can defeat Pokémon attacks?
Full of
anger, Miakko ran toward Raal and punched him "Asshole! How dare you do
it! She is my second mother!". She hit with a second punch, but at the
third Miakko's arm was grabbed by Ryu.
"Miakko!
Stop! You'll kill him!"
"Mama!
He has to pay for his crimes!" Miakko was full of anger with tears on her
face "You don't think he should stay alive?! Right?!"
"I
don't care about him. I care about you. You shouldn't kill someone."
"I've
killed people who didn't deserve it! Like Azai Nagamasa!"
"That
was in the battlefield. A mercenary mission is completely different from
killing someone out of hatred." Ryu pulled Miakko to her chest "Just
calm down. Okay?" she patted on her head.
"I'll
take care of him." Aaron came and handcuffed Raal.
"We
should get rid of him." The men from the casino said. "We won't get
our money back." Around an hour in the future, Raal Sartan will be killed
by them.
Alicia
felt wet down there "I think… my water broke…"
"The
water?" Matoi asked.
"The
baby is coming?!" Ben was excited and nervous.
"I
think so!" Alicia smiled.
"Move
the way!!!!" Nog pushed the people in crowd "A woman is going to give
birth soon!"
Alicia and
Ben took a taxi to the nearby hospital. Everyone went after them; Shirr,
Brazle, Katsuya, Nog, Matoi, Sayoko, and of course the Furukawas.
The time
was 7:00 PM, and the evening started. Alicia was in pain due to giving birth.
It was her first time of giving birth despite being a mother for so long. It
was something she never experienced before. She screamed out of pain, but Ben
was there to support her. Everyone and Miakko waited outside, and Miakko was
very stressed. "Calm down, Miakko." Sayoko came to her.
"Everything will be alright. Giving birth is a beautiful thing, even if it
is full of pain at the labor itself."
"Sayoko,
you speak as if you've done this before."
"I
did." She looked at Katsuya. "I am a mother as well. Well… I was…"
Everyone
were about to fall asleep while waiting for the baby to come out. The time was
midnight. The date was changed. "Miakko." Waiareas said "Happy
birthday."
"Oh
right! Miakko, it is your birthday today. Happy birthday!" Shirr said.
"Wait…
doesn't that mean?" Brazle was wondering.
A cry was
heard. From something with no evil nor good; a something that has only two
wishes; sleeping, and drinking its mother's milk. Something pure, that emerged
to this world after living inside its mother's womb for nine months. At 8:00 AM
Miakko was called by Alicia to see this pure thing.
"Miakko,
happy birthday." Alicia said.
Miakko
looked at the female baby. "Did you give her a name?" she asked.
"Not
yet." Alicia answered. "Miakko, do want to give her a name?"
"Can
I?"
"I
always wanted that if I had a child that you will give them a name."
When
Miakko saw the new baby she was full of joy. At this point Miakko started
pondering and having thoughts; does she really want to go back to her original
world? She considered the baby as her sister, even if not related by blood.
Miakko was thinking for five minutes for a name. And she decided "Her name
will be Ashley. Our surname 'Blaze' might be gone, but the fire theme will be
alive, with the ash."
